Larchwood, Iowa — A Sioux Falls man was taken to the hospital after a crash near Larchwood on Thursday, March 19th, 2026.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 12:25 p.m., 81-year-old Harvey Fincher of Sioux Falls was driving a 2012 Ford eastbound on 140th Street, seven miles west of Larchwood on A18. They tell us that 29-year-old Casey Wynia of Larchwood was westbound on 140th in a 2013 Ford pickup.
The report says that Fincher started to turn northbound on Apple Avenue in front of Wynia. Wynia braked but was unable to avoid the crash.
The Lyon County Ambulance took Fincher to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Both vehicles sustained $10,000 in damages, which totaled them both.
Fincher was charged with failure to yield upon left turn.
