Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Sioux Falls woman has been arrested on a felony Lyon County theft warrant for a crime that allegedly occurred in May of this year.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Lyon County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 19-year-old Alison Rae Peltier of Sioux Falls is accused of the theft of a motor vehicle. She was arrested on Wednesday.
The deputy’s statement says that on May 5th, 2022, a 2006 Ford F150 was stolen from a home in Rock Rapids. During the course of the investigation, video was obtained that showed a white SUV was also involved. Within minutes of the theft, both vehicles are seen pulling into the Casey’s General Store parking lot in Rock Rapids. The deputy goes on to say that according to the video, one occupant from each vehicle entered the store where video and pictures of them were taken. He says they used the video and information from the Sioux Falls Police Department to identify the two and a third subject who remained in one of the vehicles.
Peltier was identified as being one of the people allegedly involved in the theft. She was charged with Second Degree Theft, a class D felony. If convicted of a class D felony, Peltier could face up to five years in prison.
According to court records, she faces a preliminary hearing on Monday, November 28th at the Lyon County Courthouse in Rock Rapids.
At last report, she remained in the Lyon County Jail in lieu of a $5000 bond.
