Struble, Iowa– A Struble teen has died as a result of a crash near Struble on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 7:45 p.m., 19-year-old Sarah Van Ostrand of Struble was driving a 2003 GMC pickup westbound on C12, two miles east of Struble, or a mile east of Highway 75. They tell us that 35-year-old David Cleveringa of Sioux Center was eastbound on C12 in a 2015 Kenworth truck.
The report says that Van Ostrand crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the truck, which was preparing to turn into the Dykstra Dairy.
Van Ostrand died at the scene
Cleveringa reported no injuries.
The trooper’s report says the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Le Mars Fire and Rescue, and Stockton Towing assisted with the response to the accident.
