Subject Flees As Sheldon Officers Assist US Marshal With Arrest

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon police officers were busy over the weekend, helping another agency with an arrest.

Sheldon Police Officer Nyron Moore tells us Sheldon officers assisted a US Marshal in arresting a subject on a federal arrest warrant on Sunday afternoon in Sheldon. Police Chief Eric Meinecke tells us it was a felony-level warrant.

Sheldon officers say that when they attempted to arrest the subject, he fled on foot to his home. They say he was apprehended a short time later, after negotiations took place. According to Officer Moore, local charges are also pending against the individual, and he tells us they are not able to release his name at this time.
