Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man was injured in a telehandler accident near Rock Valley on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 49-year-old David Ver Burg of Rock Valley, was driving a 2007 JCB 506C Telehandler forklift eastbound on 290th Street, one mile north of Rock Valley, when he lost control on the gravel. The machine entered the south ditch and rolled.
The Rock Valley Ambulance took Ver Burg to Hegg Health Center. His injures were termed, “serious.”
The telehandler sustained approximately $12,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office says the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Ambulance Squad, and Rock Valley Fire Department assisted with the response to the accident.
