Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley teen suffered minor injuries in a 3-vehicle crash Wednesday, September 28th, near Rock Valley.
Sioux County authorities say the accident happened shortly after 8 am, at the intersection of Highway 18 and Garfield Avenue, three miles east of Rock Valley. Cops say 51-year old Marv Van Beek of Inwood was southbound on Garfield Avenue in a 2004 Pontiac GTO, when he entered the intersection with Highway 18, colliding with an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 15-year old Jillian Dykstra of Rock Valley, as well as a northbound 2011, driven by 63-year old Lois Joffer of Sioux Center.
Deputies say Dykstra complained of minor injuries, but declined medical attenion.
Damage to Dykstra’s SUV was estimated at $6-thousand. Van Beek’s GTO sustained $6-thousand in damage, as well. Damage to Joffer’s pickup was estimaated at $500.
VanBeek was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department.
