Rock Rapids, Iowa — A tractor was damaged in a fire on Saturday, April 13, 2024, near Rock Rapids.
According to Rock Rapids Fire Chief Ed Reck, at about 11:50 a.m., the Rock Rapids Fire Department was called to the report of a tractor fire a mile south of the east side water tower, and a mile and a half east.
The chief says the fire department quickly extinguished the fire with water.
Reck says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire appeared to be a malfunction with the tractor.
Chief Reck reports that there was moderate damage.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
