Alvord, Iowa — A Minnesota man escaped injury, but was unable to avoid arrest, following a single-vehicle crash in Lyon County early Saturday morning.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, shortly before 5:00 Saturday morning, their deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover crash.
According to the report, a 2010 Ford Fusion, driven by 23-year-old Austin Meier of Bingham Lake Minnesota was southbound on Dove Avenue at 200th Street, northwest of Alvord, when it left the roadway and entered the west ditch, flipping onto its top in a steep part of the ditch.
Deputies say the Fusion was termed a total loss in the crash.
As a result of the crash investigation, Meier was arrested on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated, 1st Offense. He was placed in the Lyon County Jail, while his car was impounded by Trackside Towing.
