On Tuesday, December 31, 2019 the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 9 and Dove Avenue.
Zachary Hamann, age 19, of Inwood, IA was driving a green 1997 Chevrolet K1500 westbound on Highway 9 and was preparing to turn southbound on Dove Avenue. Terry DeBeer, age 44, of Ellsworth, MN was driving a 2007 Freightliner with an attached 2020 Timpte trailer. DeBeer was also westbound on Highway 9 and was unable to stop for Hamann’s vehicle which resulted in a collision in the intersection.
No injuries were reported. Hamman’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damages and DeBeer’s sustained approximately $1,000 in damages.
