Two Injured In ATV Accident In George

George, Iowa — Two people were injured in an ATV accident in George on Saturday, July 1st.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that John Jager Jr. of South Sioux City, Nebraska had been giving rides on a Honda Odyssey ATV in the 200 block of Main Street in George. They report that while Jager and his passenger were northbound on Main Street, Jager braked excessively in an attempt to make the ATV spin 180 degrees. The Sheriff’s Office says that during this action Jager lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll one-quarter of a time onto its side.

The Sheriff’s Office says Jager and his passenger, Sharon Fuller, were both injured as a result of the accident.

They say the George Emergency Medical Service took Jager to Sheldon Sanford Hospital.

Deputies met with Jager at the hospital and cited him on charges of operating a non-registered vehicle on the roadway, careless driving, and reckless driving.

The accident is still under investigation and alcohol is believed to be a factor, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
