Hull, Iowa — One man from Le Mars and one from George were taken to hospitals after an accident near Hull on Tuesday, December 17th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that a few minutes after 6:00 p.m., 67-year-old Loran Weiler of Le Mars was driving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on Highway 18, a mile west of Hull. They say 29-year-old Byron Lopez of George was driving a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup eastbound on Highway 18. They tell us Lopez lost control of the pickup, which entered the westbound lane and the vehicles collided.
Weiler and Lopez were both transported by ambulance services of Hull and Sioux Center to Sioux Center Health.
The Jeep sustained approximately $6,000 in damage; the Ford sustained an estimated $10,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office tells us the Hull Fire Department, and ambulance squads from both Hull and Sioux Center assisted with the response to the accident.
