Orange City, Iowa — A Sibley man’s pickup and a Orange City woman’s van were damaged in a crash on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Orange City.
The Orange City Police Department reports that about 3:20 PM, 75-year-old Peter Wagner of Sibley was driving a 2003 GMC pickup southbound on Colorado Avenue Southwest. Fifty-two year-old Debra Den Hartog of Orange City was eastbound on Third Street Southwest in a 1999 GMC full-sized van.
The report says that Wagner told the officer that he did not see the stop sign and went right through it.
Wagner’s GMC pickup sustained $8000 in damages, and Den Hartog’s 1999 sustained $15,000 in damages.
Wagner was charged with failure to obey a stop sign.
Orange City Ambulance and Fire Department personnel assisted at the scene.
