Westfield Resident Taken To Hospital After Crash South Of Sioux Center Involving 3 Vehicles

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Westfield resident was taken to a hospital after a crash on Monday, December 1st, near Sioux Center.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us that a few minutes before 5:00 p.m., 48-year-old Lonnie Adams of Westfield was driving a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Highway 75, about a mile south of Sioux Center. They say 49-year-old Maksym Homziakov of Sioux Center was driving behind Adams in a 2002 Toyota Avalon. They say both Adams and Homziakov were stopped in traffic waiting when 21-year-old Paul Roscoe of Lyons, Nebraska, who was driving a 2009 Toyota Highlander behind Homziakov, failed to reduce speed and struck the Homziakov Toyota, pushing it forward, striking the Adams Jeep.

The Sioux Center Ambulance took Adams to Sioux Center Health.

The Adams Jeep sustained approximately $1,000 in damage. The Homziakov Toyota sustained approximately $7,000 in damage, and damage to the Roscoe Highlander was estimated at $5,000.

Roscoe was cited on a charge of following too closely.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Fire Department, Sioux Center Ambulance and the Iowa State Patrol.
