Ireton, Iowa — A Hawarden woman was taken to the hospital after an accident near Ireton on Thursday, June 25.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 4 PM, 38-year-old Alejandra Chavez of Hawarden was driving a 2002 Pontiac Montana minivan westbound on Highway 10, two miles northwest of Ireton. The report says she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the north ditch and rolled.
The Ireton Ambulance took Chavez to the Hawarden Hospital.
The Pontiac sustained approximately $4,500 in damages.
Chavez was cited for failure to maintain control of her vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Ireton Fire Department, Ireton Ambulance crew and the Iowa State Patrol assisted them on the scene.
