Worthington, Minnesota – A two-vehicle crash Friday on Interstate 90 at Worthington claimed the life of a Worthington woman.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 75-year-old Christie Eichner of Worthington was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound and had stopped on the freeway. Troopers say another eastbound vehicle, a 2023 Dodge Ram driven by 45-year-old Elly Jo Wagner of Redfield, South Dakota, collided with the Equinox.
Eichner was taken to the Worthington hospital where she was pronounced dead. No injuries were reported to Wagner and two children in her vehicle. Troopers say Eichner wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
The collision took place a little after 1:00 pm.
