Reward Offered For Information In Suspicious Primghar Area Fire

Primghar, Iowa — A reward is being offered for information about a fire in rural Primghar that was termed “suspicious” at the time.

According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies are investigating the fire at a farm acreage northwest of Primghar. The farm acreage is at 3730 Roosevelt Avenue.

Sheriff’s officials tell us the farm consists of several outbuildings and a vacant house.

A fire was reported there on February 10, 2023 at approximately 2:25 a.m. The vacant house was fully engulfed when the fire was reported. Authorities tell us there was no electricity going to the farm acreage. The house and contents were considered a total loss and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone who has information related to this crime to contact the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office. They’d like to know about any suspicious people or vehicles in or around the property in the days leading up to the fire.

The O’Brien County Crime Dusters program is offering a $1500 reward to anyone who provides information on this crime that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offender.
