Rock Valley Business Damaged In Fire

Rock Valley, Iowa — A business building was damaged in a fire on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, near Rock Valley.

According to Rock Valley Fire Chief Brent Eshuis, at about 4:45 p.m., the Rock Valley Fire Department was called to the report of a structure fire at 2553 320th Street, which is the address for Post Equipment.

The chief says the fire department saw smoke coming from the attic as they approached the scene. He says the fire was in the attic area and they cut holes in the roof to reach it.

Eshuis says no injuries were reported.

The fire department was assisted by the Hull, Sioux Center, and Hudson Fire Departments He says the Sioux Center firefighters provided their aerial truck, which was a big help.

Eshuis tells us the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.

Chief Eshuis reports that the roof will need to be replaced, as will the ceiling, to the tune of probably $200,000.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for two and a half hours.
