Sioux City Man Taken To Hospital After Sutherland Area Accident

Sutherland, Iowa– A Sioux City man was taken to the hospital after an accident near Sutherland on Monday, November 14, 2022.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:10 a.m., 22-year-old Tyson Cook of Hartley was driving a 1995 Chevy pickup southbound on Vine Avenue, at 420th Street, four miles north of Sutherland.

The report says that due to snow-covered roads, Cook lost control. The pickup entered the west ditch and then rolled onto the front, coming to rest on its front up against a culvert.

The Sutherland EMS took a passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old Bryce Cook to Mercy One Primghar Hospital.

Cook’s Chevy pickup was totaled in the accident with about $1900 in damages.

Cook was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle.
