Spencer Woman Injured In Accident Near Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A Spencer woman was taken to the hospital after hitting a deer Sunday evening near Sheldon.

Sioux County authorities say the mishap took place shortly after 7:45 Sunday evening, three miles south of Sheldon on Highway 60.

Deputies say a 2012 GMC Terrain, driven by 26-year-old Kayla Farrell, of Spencer, was northbound on Highway 60, when her SUV collided with a deer on the roadway.

Farrell was transported to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team for treatment of minor injuries.

Damage to Farrell’s SUV was estimated at about $8,000.
