Sheldon, Iowa — One sure sign that fall is on the horizon is the annual Sportsmen’s Banquet, sponsored by Sheldon’s First Reformed Church.
The 17th annual event will be held Saturday, August 26th at the Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon. Evan De Hoogh is one of the organizers of the event, which he says was moved up a couple of weeks this year.
De Hoogh says if you like barbecue, you’ll love the meal at this year’s banquet.
He says the Sportsmen’s Banquet is a family-friendly event.
Each year, numerous guns are given away at the banquet, and De Hoogh says this year is no different.
He says tickets for the August 26th event are still available.
De Hoogh says if you can’t get your tickets purchased this week, you can contact him, or 1st Reformed Church in Sheldon, the sponsor of the banquet, and they should be able to get you in.
