Sheldon, Iowa — An event that began in 2000 has begun again this year. The nineteenth Coats for Kids drive is underway in Sheldon.
The Coats for Kids drive collects new or gently used coats for children who might not otherwise have warm winter outerware. Coats for Kids is sponsored by Bubbles Dry Cleaning and Laundry, and Bubbles new manager Becky DeYoung says the drive began earlier this week.
DeYoung says the coats will be distributed by the Sheldon Ministerial Association on November 3rd.
She says the Coats for Kids drive isn’t limited to just coats.
Since the Coats for Kids drive began in 2000, donations have averaged about three hundred coats per year. New or gently used coats, hats and PAIRS of gloves can be dropped off at Bubbles Dry Cleaning and Laundry anytime before October 19th.
