25 New Cases Of COVID In Area Reported Friday

Northwest Iowa — The four-county area of Lyon, Sioux, O’Brien and Osceola counties saw twenty-five residents diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in Friday’s report from the Iowa Department of Public Health.

The twenty-five case increase represents eighteen new cases in Sioux County, three in Osceola County and one each in O’Brien and Lyon Counties. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4355 Sioux County residents have tested positive, along with 1591 in O’Brien County, 1259 in Lyon County and 614 in Osceola County.

No additional deaths were reported Friday, leaving the death toll at fifty-three in O’Brien County, forty-four in Sioux County, twenty-five in Lyon County and eight in Osceola County.

Of the 1259 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1070 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 85%.
Of the 4355 Sioux County residents to test positive, 3882 have recovered, for a rate of about 89%.
Of the 1591 O’Brien County residents who have tested positive, 1386 have recovered, for a rate of about 87%.
Of the 614 Osceola County residents who tested positive for COVID-19, 553 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 90%.
