27 New Cases Of COVID-19 Reported In Area Wednesday

Northwest Iowa — Twenty-seven additional cases of COVID-19 were reported in the four-county area of Wednesday by the Iowa Department of Public Health. However, there were no additional deaths to report.

The new cases of COVID reported Wednesday by the Iowa Department of Public Health included twelve in Sioux County, bringing their total to 4313 since the pandemic began. Lyon County reported eight new cases, bringing their pandemic total to 1244. O’Brien County added six cases to their count, running their total to 1583, while Osceola County reported one new case, for a total of 609.

There were no deaths reported in the four-county area Wednesday. Since the start of the pandemic, O’Brien County has lost fifty-three residents, Sioux County forty-three, Lyon County twenty-five and Osceola County seven since the pandemic began.

Of the 1,244 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1057 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 85%.
Of the 4,313 Sioux County residents to test positive, 3848 have recovered, for a rate of about 89%.
Of the 1,583 O’Brien County residents who have tested positive, 1364 have recovered, for a rate of about 86%.
Of the 609 Osceola County residents who tested positive for COVID-19, 546 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 90%.
