300+ Loose Cattle Make For Difficult Morning Commute Near West Lyon School

Lyon County, Iowa — Motorists in the area near West Lyon High School encountered some hazardous driving conditions Monday morning, in the form of several head of cattle that had escaped from a farm place sometime Sunday night.

An email from West Lyon School said the school had received a call from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office early Monday morning warning them that more than 300 head of cattle had gotten out from a farm place south of the West Lyon School Sunday night, and had been roaming all night long.

The email warned that there were many cattle on the roadways Monday morning, and urged caution in driving to school or work Monday morning.

At last report, the round-up of the cattle was continuing.
