48 New COVID Cases, 2 Deaths, Reported Saturday

Northwest Iowa — Two additional COVID-related deaths were reported in the four-county area Saturday, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health, as well as an additional forty-eight positive COVID diagnoses.

A total of seventy-three people have died in the four counties since the pandemic began. O’Brien County has lost thirty-two residents, Sioux County twenty-nine, Lyon County ten and Osceola County has had two deaths.

In addition, Saturday’s report indicates an additional forty-eight COVID positive test results in the four-county area. O’Brien County was up 14 cases to 1372 since the pandemic began. Sioux County was up 25 cases to 3876. Lyon County was up 6 to 1084 and Osceola County was up 3 at 553.

Of the 1084 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 661 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 63%.
Of the 3876 Sioux County residents who tested positive, 2871 have recovered, for a rate of about 75%.
Of the 1372 O’Brien County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 944 have recovered, for a rate of about 69%.
Of the 553 Osceola County residents who tested positive, 368 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 67%.
