Sheldon, Iowa — Seventy students from ten area high schools had the opportunity to experience what it’s like to drive a tractor-trailer rig Tuesday afternoon at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon.
According to a college spokesperson, the Iowa Motor Truck Association provided NCC with a trucking simulator for the Diesel Exploration Workshop held Tuesday. For that one day only, high school students were able to drive a semi without the risk of being on an actual road.
High Schools participating in Tuesday’s event were:
· Boyden-Hull High School
· Central Lyon High School
· MMCRU High School
· Netherlands Reformed Christian High School
