Alliant Energy Customers Will Soon Be Paying More For Electricity

Des Moines, Iowa — Alliant Energy customers are about to see their electric bills go up.

The Iowa Utilities Commission approved the company’s request for increased rates and will require transparency from Alliant Energy for future investments. Average monthly electric bills will rise from 13 to 15 dollars.

Alliant Energy customers will be notified of the bill changes within 30 days.

The new rates will take effect on October 1st.

In our local broadcast area, Alliant provides power to George, Little Rock, all of the smaller communities in Osceola County except for Sibley, a small area on the eastern side of O’Brien County, and a very small area north and west of Matlock, plus some rural areas around these towns; and they are the natural gas provider in a number of Lyon and Osceola County towns.
