Alliant Energy Foundation Awards Grants To NCC, Other Northwest Iowa Entities

The Alliant Energy Foundation has awarded more than $980,000 in its third and last Community Grant cycle of the year.

Grants were awarded in a number of categories, including community safety and engagement, environmental stewardship, hunger and housing, and workforce readiness.

Locally, the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation received $3000 toward 2025 Scholarships.

Nearby, the Milford Memorial Library is receiving $500 for its Children’s Summer Reading program; the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce was awarded $1,500 for the University of Okoboji Winter Games; the city of West Okoboji is receiving $500 for park improvements, and the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation was awarded $2,000 for scholarships.

In our area, Alliant Energy serves several communities in Lyon and Osceola counties, including Lester, Little Rock, George, Ashton, Ocheyedan, and Harris. Alliant also has customers in eastern O’Brien County, and a very small area of service northwest of Matlock in Sioux County.
