Alton Man Charged With Sex Abuse

Alton, Iowa — An Alton man was arrested Wednesday (August 16th) on a warrant charging him with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, according to Sioux County arrest records.

Orange City Police say the charges against 23-year old Tyler Mark Sjaarda, of Alton, stem from an investigation into a complaint by the parent of a female juvenile who accused Sjaarda of having sex with the girl at a residence in Alton earlier this month.

Police say the investigation is continuing.

3rd Degree Sexual Abuse is a Class “C” Felony.
