We talked to Jeremy Beenken from the post and he tells us that because of the support they received, they were able to donate $1200 to the Bushy Creek Area Honor Flight.

It is free of charge to the veterans that fly out, he says. According to Beenken, the money raised for the honor flights come from memberships.

Beenken tells us about membership and about the fact that they need more volunteers to help with military funerals.

Beenken is asking veterans to come and see what it is all about. He says they meet in the Legion Building in City Park across from Parkview Assembly.

If you are interested in hearing more about the Honor Flight program, Deanna Akeson from the O’brien County Veterans Affairs will be the next meeting to talk about it. It’s tonight, April 9th, 2015, at 7:30 PM.
