Sheldon, Iowa — An annual fundraising supper for our emergency medical services in Sheldon is coming up next week.
Dianne Wolthuizen with the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team — or “SCAT” tells us about this year’s annual SCAT Supper.
She says SCAT is doing pretty well on the EMT side of things, but if you’re interested in serving your community, they’d love to visit with you.
She says the current SCAT roster includes 11 EMTs, five medics, three drivers, and four students who are taking the EMT class, and one high school student. She tells us SCAT handles anywhere from zero up to six calls per day, depending on the day.
Wolthuizen tells us that proceeds from the supper’s freewill donations will go to help SCAT buy a full-body splint. She tells us what that is.
Again, the SCAT Supper is Wednesday, May 22nd, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Crossroads Pavilion Events Center, and they will be accepting freewill donations.
