Northwest Iowa — One new death and ten new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the four-county area on Saturday, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Once again the lone COVID-related death in the area was that of a Sioux County resident, bringing that county’s death toll to 66 since the pandemic began. O’Brien County remains at 54, with Lyon County at 37 and Osceola at 12 deaths since the start of the pandemic, for a four-county total of 169.
Saturday’s report included four new COVID cases in both O’Brien and Lyon Counties, with two in Sioux County and no new cases in Osceola County.
Of the 1410 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID, 1293 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 92%.
Of the 4659 Sioux County residents to test positive, 4424 have recovered, for a rate of about 95%.
Of the 1747 O’Brien County residents to test positive for COVID 1610 have recovered, for a rate of about 92%.
Of the 655 Osceola County residents who have tested positive for COVID, 617 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 94%.
