Northwest Iowa — Less than a week after northwest Iowa was shut down by a Christmas week blizzard, another storm system will be bringing snow to the area on Tuesday.
We talked to Meteorologist Kyle Weisser of the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls Monday afternoon and he told us this new system is caused by a low pressure system approaching from the southwest.
We asked Weisser if we should expect the same kind of howling winds that we saw with last week’s blizzard.
He says that we can expect cold temperatures, but they won’t be all that bad, considering it IS December in northwest Iowa.
Weisser says once we get through this week’s storm system there really isn’t much headed our way in the foreseeable future.
The KIWA listening area is under a Winter Weather Advisory from Tuesday morning until the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
