Arraignment Date Set For Mother Who Caused Amber Alert

Clay County, Iowa — An arraignment date has been set for a mother who allegedly kidnapped her three daughters in Royal last month, prompting the issuance of an AMBER Alert.

Clay County Chief Deputy Zach Larsen says the three girls were located in Sanborn that night, and appeared to be in good physical condition. He says the children were returned to family members.

Deputy Larsen says the girls’ mother, 25-year old Danica Arzaga, had been the subject of a search that ended when she was taken into custody in Woodbury County the next afternoon. Arzaga faces three counts of Kidnapping in the Third Degree, all Class “C” Felonies.

According to court records, Arzaga has been scheduled for arraignment on Monday, October 16th in Clay County District Court in Spencer.
