Rural Inwood, Iowa — Firefighters from at least three fire departments battled a house fire near Inwood on Thursday, February 8th.
According to Lyon County Sheriff Stewart Vander Stoep, the Inwood Fire Department was paged for a house fire at 1332 220th Street northwest of Inwood at 7:45 Thursday morning, February 8th. Firefighters from Larchwood and Canton, South Dakota were also sent to the fire. The address is roughly four miles west and two north of Inwood. The place is less than half a mile from the Big Sioux River.
Vander Stoep says that the house is a total loss, and as of mid-afternoon on Thursday, firefighters were still on-scene.
