Peterson, Iowa — The holiday season has arrived and with it comes pressure to spend time shopping for the perfect gift. Charlene Elyea, the naturalist and assistant director of the Prairie Heritage Center says that gift may be closer than you think … and less expensive as well.
She says the O’Brien County Conservation Board would like to encourage you to spend time outdoors with family and friends as a way to savor time together. They’ve got three events scheduled in December. The first one is called “Avoid The Mall.”
You heard that right, it’s a “mystery” event, she says. So she’s not giving too many details.
She encourages people to consider these outings as a special gift that everyone can enjoy.
