Northwest Iowa — With the wintry precipitation and the frigid temperatures, it’s fair to say that Mother Nature is reminding us that it is, in fact, winter in northwest Iowa.
Kyle Weisser is a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, and he says the cold temperatures are here to stay for a few days.
In addition to the cold temperatures, Weisser says some brutal wind chills will be felt in the short-term.
He says that, compared to the work week, Saturday’s temperatures will seem like a heatwave.
We asked Weisser if there is any more precipitation on the horizon.
He says the best chance for snow will be from northeast Nebraska into northwest Iowa.
