Rock Valley, Iowa — Community Blood Bank will come together with Hegg Health Center and the Netherlands Reformed Christian School, both in Rock Valley to offer two community blood drives on Friday, November 22nd, to strengthen the community’s blood supply going into the holiday season.
Community Blood Bank officials tell us Hegg Health Center, at 1202 21st Avenue, will host a blood drive from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with donor registration located in the OPS waiting room. Donors wishing to schedule a donation can log onto cbblifeblood.org, select “events”, and November 22, Hegg Health Center or call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222.
Meanwhile, Netherlands Reformed Christian School, at 712 20th Avenue Southeast in Rock Valley, will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with donor registration located inside the school’s main entrance. Donors wanting to schedule a donation appointment can call the school office at 712-476-2821.
All those donating blood at either location will receive a $10 Scooter’s gift card as a thank-you gift.
Lauri Hoffmann, Community Blood Bank’s Program Coordinator says, “Throughout the holiday season, people tend to get caught up in many actives, gatherings, and travel. It is our hope residents will remember to give blood and help strengthen the local supply as we move throughout November and December. Blood is one of the foundations necessary for medical preparedness.”
