Sheldon, Iowa — The Community Blood Bank bloodmobile is coming back to Sheldon.
Community Blood Bank and Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon are hosting a blood drive on Wednesday. Executive Director of Community Blood Bank, Ken VerSteeg tells us about it.
VerSteeg says that the need for blood is constant, but he tells us why it’s important to donate during this busy harvest season.
Again the blood drive is from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 18. They tell us that the whole donation process takes 30 to 35 minutes.
To be eligible to donate you must be at least 17 years old (or 16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. You are asked to bring an ID with you. It is recommended that you eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. For more information or to make an appointment you can call NCC at 324-5061. Walk-ins are always welcome.
