Camping Fun At Dog Creek Park

O’Brien County, Iowa–The Dog Creek Park Campground, near Sutherland, will be bursting with activities each weekend from now through August 15.

On each Saturday, beginning on July 25, activities will be arranged, and Children are invited to attend. The times for these activities have yet to be determined. Charlene Elyea of the O’Brien County Conservation Board, tells us what is going down

(as said) Elyea says “Our Campground host has actually been doing the planning, so she has created just a bunch of activities, and is planning on doing one activity each weekend, and these are kind of geared towards young people but families of all ages are invited to come over and participate.”

Campground host, LuCinda Siekman, has planned a variety of activities to encourage park patrons to have fun while camping this summer.

(as said) “shes the host,” Elyea says “And so the hosts campsite is well marked, it’s right by, near the bathrooms on the north side of our camping area there, and shes gonna have an activity each Saturday from now through mid august and so, has a bunch of fun stuff planned.”

As to what the activities are Elyea fills us in.

(as said) “So on July 25th, there’s going to be a ‘Wet and Wild Weekend’. It will include some things like water balloon fun and some other ways to kind of get wet and have some fun. The next weekend is gonna be painting a pet rock so she’ll have all the supplies necessary. The next one is a treasure hunt and that one’s gonna be kind of like an Easter Egg hunt only you’ll be looking for different kinds of things, and then the final one is glow in the dark bowling. So just a bunch of fun stuff and opportunities for people to get together outdoors and have a real fun time.” Elyea says.
