Car Destroyed In Morning Fire

Rock Valley, Iowa– A car was totaled in a fire on Friday, October 14, 2016 near Rock Valley.

According to Rock Valley Fire Chief Brent Eshuis, about 6:32 AM, the Rock Valley Fire Department was called to the report of car fire near 2146 310th Street, two and a half miles west of the west side of Rock Valley.

The chief says the fire department saw the car’s engine on fire as they approached the scene. He says while damage to the 2003 Buick was limited to the engine compartment, he figures the car is probably totaled.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

He says they used about thirty gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene for about twenty minutes.
