Childcare Survey Aims To Find Data On Current Situation In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — The City of Sheldon, Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation (SCDC), Children’s World Community Daycare and Learning Center, and Iowa Child Care Resource & Referral are partnering to conduct a study of Sheldon’s childcare needs.

Children’s World Board Member Greta Giese tells us that the purpose of the study is to understand factors of childcare availability, decisions, and needs in Sheldon.

SCDC Executive Director Curt Strouth says it’s becoming more and more of an issue.

According to Strouth, the online survey link is being sent to many groups of people, but he says they’re interested in any relevant data.

Strouth and Giese say that the results of the survey will dictate the next steps to be taken, whether that’s an expansion of Children’s World or other ideas, to help address the current situation. The survey will close on Friday, May 24th, and if you have the link, they encourage you to take the survey.
