Chinese Chef To Soon Have New Digs; Strip Mall Also Planned

Sheldon, Iowa — The area around Highways 18 and 60 in eastern Sheldon continues to develop. Soon the Chinese Chef will have a new building to call home, and a new strip mall is planned as well.

Chinese Chef owner Andy Lee tells us about the new restaurant.

He gives us an idea of the timeframes for the new building.

Lee says right now, they’re going to focus on call-in and drive-through only, but someday they hope to have a dining room available for their guests.

Lee tells us that the restaurant is only the first of his projects. He’s actually involved in another business venture as well.

He says they don’t have any tenants yet, as people want to see the building before they commit, but he says they’ve been talking to several people about the possibility of leasing a space. He says there are three phases to the strip mall timeline, the first of which is the shell of the building, which they hope to have up by late spring 2023.

Lee says he’s grateful for the support Sheldon has shown.
