Sheldon, Iowa — This year’s Coats for Kids project, which is sponsored each year by the Sheldon Area Ministerial Association, will see it’s finale this weekend when the coats are distributed.
Each year the Sheldon Area Ministerial Association has sponsored a Coats for Kids Drive to help get warm winter coats into the hands of children in the community who might not otherwise have a warm coat for this coming winter.
Donations of new and gently used coats began coming in early last month, with donors dropping off the coats at Top Notch Stitching, with an October 29th deadline.
After being donated, the used coats were cleaned by Campus Cleaners, to prepare the coats for their new owners.
Now it’s time for those coats to be distributed free to kids who badly need them to keep warm this winter.
Distribution of the coats is scheduled for 9:00 to 11:00 am this Saturday (November 6th) in the lower level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
The Sheldon Ministerial Association, Top Notch Stitching and Campus Cleaners, along with everyone who donated coats, teamed up to help keep local kids warm this winter.
