Corner Discount Store Celebrates With Ribbon Cutting

Sheldon, Iowa — Another new business in Sheldon celebrated with a ribbon cutting on Friday, May 17th.

Corner Discount Store has opened at 9th Street and Old 60.

Many people attended the ribbon cutting and a few people had some things to say. Sheldon Chamber & Development Executive Director Tania Herrera Gonzales spoke on behalf of the SCDC.

KIWA’s Skip Tanner spoke on behalf of the Sheldon Ambassadors.

Owner Toni Ginger tells us about her business.

Ginger says they buy the merchandise by the semi truck load, and most of the time it’s brand new overstock merchandise, not refurbished.

Ginger says they’re open from 10-6 Monday through Friday and from 10 to 1 on Saturdays. The business is in the former location of Validation, and for many years it was the Gordon’s Shoes & Shirts store, on the corner of 9th Street and Old Highway 60 (2nd Avenue) in Sheldon.
