Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council met this Wednesday (March 1st), they decided what to do with the single remaining unsold building lot in the Trilogy Addition.
Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker tells us about it.
In other action, Kookier says the Council held a public hearing on the Lewis & Clark Regional Water connection and awarded the contract for the construction in Sheldon. He tells us that this is the piping and equipment needed to hook up Sheldon’s system to the Lewis & Clark pipeline that will soon be in Sheldon.
He says they’re glad to be to this point.
The council also considered a water supply agreement with the City of Sioux Center. Kooiker tells us why that is needed.
Kooiker says Sheldon will be able to pull out of the agreement when Sheldon needs the extra capacity.
The Fiscal Year 2023-24 Maximum Property Tax Dollars was also discussed and the Council set a public hearing for the adoption of the 2023-24 Budget.
The Council also adopted a 28-E agreement with Grant Township in Sioux County for fire protection. Kooiker says it evens the reimbursement to the level recommended by the state fire chief’s association for the final of the four townships that get their fire protection from the Sheldon Fire Company.
The council also approved a request from AGP for a temporary street closure, and the resignation of Deanna Wood from the Sheldon Board of Adjustment.
