Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will hold their second regular meeting for February on Wednesday of this week (February 15, 2023).
Among the items on the Council’s “Consent Agenda” is the expected approval of a request by Village Northwest Unlimited for the use of City streets for their Run, Walk & Roll event, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd. Also on the Consent Agenda is the approval of the hiring of Steven Gardfrey as a full-time EMT for the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team. The Consent Agenda also includes probable approval of a pair of resolutions, one concerning maximum property tax dollars for the fiscal year beginning July 1st, as well as the advancement of costs for the 2023-24 Airport Urban Renewal Project. The Consent Agenda allows the Council to approve all measures with just one vote.
In other action, under “New Business” is a public hearing and awarding of contracts for the Airport Runway Rehabilitation Project. The Council is also expected to consider the future of the lone remaining unsold lot in the Trilogy Addition.
Wednesday’s meeting of the Sheldon City Council will be called to order at 4:30 pm in Council Chambers of the Sheldon Community Services Center. The meeting is open to the public, but if you can’t attend in person you can watch it live online via YouTube Live.
