Council To Discuss Financing Of Street Projects

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council meets in regular session this Wednesday September 16th with a variety of items on the agenda. One of those items is a resolution with regard to the 2.5 million dollars in General Obligation Capital Loan Notes the city plans to use toward street projects.

The council will also be asked to approve a paramedic training agreement with Krysten Haan, who has been a member of the SCAT team since 2004, and has been a full-time employee since last year.

In other business, the council will set a hearing for the lease of 14 acres of farmland near the East Lawn Cemetery, and be asked to accept the retirement notice from Elaine Boogerd who has served as Police Department Administrative Assistant since 1985.

The council will also hear an update from O’Brien County Emergency Management Coordinator Jared Johnson, a report from Police Chief Scott Burtch and the City Manager’s Report, which will include information on the draft of an ordinance that will help clarify the city’s regulations on the keeping of livestock within the city limits.

Wednesday’s meeting begins at 4:30 in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
