Council To Hold Hearing On 34th Avenue Stoplight Project

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council meets in Regular session Wednesday (October 19th) they’re scheduled to hold a public hearing.

The topic of the hearing is the planned traffic light and intersection improvements at the intersection of Highway 18 and 34th Avenue, which is the Taco John’s corner. After that public hearing, the council is expected to award the contract for that construction project.

In other action, the council is expected to approve the grant agreement from the Iowa Transportation Commission for funds to help pay for fuel system improvements at the Sheldon Regional Airport.

The council is also expected to receive a report on the City’s insurance review during Wednesday’s meeting.

Wednesday’s meeting of the Sheldon City Council will be called to order at 4:30 pm in Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center. The meeting is open to the public, but if you can’t attend in-person you can watch the meeting via YouTube Live.
