Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session Wednesday, facing a varied agenda.
Among the items on Wednesday’s agenda is a street closure request on the route from Sheldon High School to the Crossroads Pavilion on Prom Night, April 21st. The Council is also expected to approve the use of city streets during the Village Northwest Unlimited annual Run, Walk & Roll event, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 4th. In addition, they’re also expected to accept the resignation of Kellie Einck from the Airport Commission, as well as set a hearing for the temporary closure of 7th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue to allow for the demolition of the old Bethel Church. These items and others appear on the Council’s Consent Agenda, a mechanism that allows them to vote on multiple items with a single vote.
In other action, the Council is scheduled to hear Kiana Johnson deliver the Annual Report from O’Brien County Economic Development and get an update on the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, as well as hold a public hearing and approve a resolution approving the plan.
Wednesday’s meeting of the Sheldon City Council is set to begin at 4:30 pm in Council Chambers on the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center. The meeting is open to the public, or may be viewed online, live, via YouTube Live.
